One thing we hear a lot is weight loss goals and their connection to happiness.
Which to be honest rarely happens.
That said, one thing that does happen a lot is unhappiness leading to weight gain.
I have talked openly about my therapy and self care, one thing I didn’t do when I was overweight was have a lot of accountability. That’s why it concerns me when people say they don’t weigh themselves (see below for the people that should ignore this recommendation). Not liking the data you are getting isn’t the same as the truth it is telling you.
From a scientific standpoint one of the single greatest weight maintenance tips is to regularly weigh yourself. But why?
Think about it like this, if you don’t have money ignoring the problem doesn’t put money in the bank. You actually have to actively work on the problem.
This is why depression is often a silent killer. For me depression means that sometimes I have to push myself for the self care and accountability I need. This is why it’s super important to do things you love, trying to suffer through things you hate for an imaginary future where you will be happy is the wrong approach.
All that will lead to is more self loathing, dragging yourself to the gym, probably under eating a lot and eventually quitting.
Which often will lead to more depression, less accountability and more frustration. Or worse.
YOU CAN BE HAPPY NOW, in the body you are in and if you eventually feel like you need the help of a service like ours here is what we find.
Happy people go farther than unhappy people.
Unhappy people lose the fire. As someone once said, you can’t hate yourself lean and I will add, if you try you will literally never be lean enough.
Trust me, if you turn your GPS to HAPPY you will get to a much better place a lot faster, especially if you start happy. If you don't think you can get there 100% congrats, you are human. Start small with steps that make you happy. I used to like hiking, then weightlifting, what makes me happy now is pickleball. So I do it a lot.
**In terms of the scale advice above, if you have a medical condition or a doctor has told you this is a bad idea, ignore what I said and follow your doctor's advice.
Even the programs that reverse don’t do a good job because they cave to the fear of their clients or they let AI (artificial intelligence) do the work.
